Jay Barnes is author of several books and articles on hurricanes, including North Carolina’s Hurricane History (UNC Press), now in its fourth edition; Florida’s Hurricane History (UNC Press), now in its second edition; Faces From the Flood: Hurricane Floyd Remembered (UNC Press), co-authored by State Treasurer Richard Moore; and most recently, Fifteen Hurricanes That Changed the Carolinas (UNC Press).
